The Thunderbird for Life Mentorship Program provides ambitious, young members of our community with access to the experience and expertise of our more established members. Our established members represent a wide range of businesses and professions in Vancouver, across Canada, and globally.
The Thunderbird for Life Mentorship Program provides practical resource materials and simple process steps to help both mentors and mentees have a productive and fulfilling engagement.
The first step is to help interested mentors or mentees determine if a mentoring relationship is right for them.
Should I be a mentor?
Should I be a mentee?

The next step is to make sure the right mentor is paired with each mentee based on his or her needs. For example, the right mentor may be in the same profession or industry, or have shared a similar life experience to the mentee.
A successful mentoring engagement strikes the right balance between structure and flexibility. Clarity at the front end of the engagement contributes to a fulfilling experience for both the mentee and mentor.

Every effective program has a mechanism to gather feedback and recommended improvements. It’s important to evaluate: 1) how well the mentee’s and mentor’s initial objectives were met, and 2) the process and overall engagement. And it’s equally important to capture how the program can evolve to become even stronger.
